Exclude materials from Due Diligence Statement

Material supply chains out of scope for EUDR can now be excluded from the due diligence statement (DDS) submitted from Qarma to the EU Information System (TRACES).

This includes post-consumer recycled materials and materials harvested before June 29, 2023.

While the material supply chains won’t be included in the DDS, you will still be able to collect documentation for compliance on these material supply chains to document grounds for exclusion or EUTR compliance.

When defining material tags, the user select Material origin and will have options of selecting Virgin which means the wood is in scope for EUDR. Selecting either Post-consumer recycled or Virgin (Harvested before Jun 29, 2023) will exclude the material supply chain from the DDS submission.

If all material supply chains for a product are excluded, no DDS submission is needed.

For those already using the system for EUDR, please note that all material supply chains that were previously created will now have their Material origin tag found under Virgin.
